Meet the Artist - Ron Engelbrecht

My lifelong hobbies have always included pencil drawings, doodlings and sketches. The passion for drawing that includes old barns, flowers, and houses is based on those growing-up years on a small farm in South Dakota.  Seeing the gradual decay over the years of the small farms in the Midwest left an indelible image in my memory.

Love of water colors and enjoying nature seemed like a natural transition for my future artistic endeavors.  Butterflies, flowers, landscapes, ships and old barns have been my major focus over the years.

Graduating w/ majors in Physics and Math from the University of South Dakota were not unrelated to the uniqueness of nature and water colors. Studying Physics was from a curiosity and desire to understand the principles of nature and how those principles affect the foundation of all the actions and reactions around us on a daily basis.

Having spent most of my business career in the electronics industry while living in California, I am now taking more time to focus on my life-long passions and through these endeavors maybe relaxing a little more.

I  am presently  living near Carson City, Nevada and recently married Barbara, a high school classmate. Through her encouragement and efforts, we have started the next step in publishing my works and accomplishments.
